Pau basketball team gets a new look! |
August 2008 |
For the 2nd season in a row, Elan Béarnais Pau-Orthez, the Pau basketball team, chose LCI to create the new graphic design range. The new designs will be displayed on 4 x 3 panels, in Pau bus stops, and in pre-game advertisements. Having made a name for themselves in 2005 with the graphic designs used on items sent to club sponsors and partners, LCI's graphic designers and artists highlighted themes such as family and spectators. The design conveys a feel of the atmosphere during big games, when the arena beats to the rhythm of a passion for sports. Ranking 9th at the end of the 2007–2008 season and a long-term member of the French basketball elite (PRO A), EBPO now hopes to bounce back up and take off with new momentum. Indeed, as decreed by the 2007 slogan composed by LCI, let’s all hope that “after overcoming obstacles, Elan is on its way to the highest peaks”! |

LCI Rennes moves to better serve its clients |
October 2007 |
To handle its growing turnover and staff, the teams at LCI Rennes left their offices in Saint Grégoire (35) to move to a new, entirely renovated, 450m2 location. These offices are located on the Ker Lann campus in Bruz, an area dedicated to training, research and business services. To properly celebrate this event, a cocktail reception was held on September 21, 2007 attended by many clients, employees, friends and local personalities. The group Agua Na Boca (http://www.info-groupe.com/aguanaboca/) played Brazilian music and provided a lively atmosphere. However, it wasn't easy for Agua Na Boca's singers and musicians, who had to endure the shouts of encouragement from the rugby fans watching the France/Ireland World Cup game, which France won (to the utter disappointment of our Irish employees who had to console themselves on the dance floor!) |

LCI is expanding to Tianjin in China |
April 2007 |
| Following a recent business trip to Shanghai, Mr. Erik Lebreton, CEO of the LCI Group, joined by Chinese project manager Miss Sha Yu, has decided to open offices in Tianjin, China, in order to offer the best possible service to its international customers. This trip gave LCI the opportunity to meet the Director of the Chinese government’s investment association as well as several company directors from various industry sectors. LCI is looking to work with them in order to expand its international influence. Sha Yu will be in charge of managing LCI’s China division. Tianjin is a city with 11 million inhabitants directly dependent on the central Chinese government, and is situated 120 kilometres south of Beijing. Since the opening of the Chinese market, goods sold by companies located in Beijing are manufactured in Tianjin. Tianjin is a large industrial city and is situated in the ‘Gold region’ on the coast of the Bohai sea, the innermost gulf of the Yellow Sea, where a flourishing market is developing at a fast pace, attracting more and more foreign investors most notably in the automobile, aeronautics, chemical, medical, textile, mechanic and electronics industries. Some of the biggest international names such as Toyota, Motorola and Airbus are based there. |

After Chicago and Paris, Laurent GARNIER ran the 2006 New York Marathon in the colors of LCI |
November 2006 |
The New York Marathon is one of the biggest running events in the world, attracting over 37,000 runners from all kinds of backgrounds and nationalities. Beyond the lucrative prize of over 600,000 US dollars, a fantastic atmosphere created by 2 million spectators lining the course and 315 million watching at home boosted the moral of all those taking part. Out of the 700,000 who took part in the previous marathons, none of them would deny that crossing the finish line in Central Park is one of the greatest feelings one could ever experience in a lifetime! More information at www.nycmarathon.org Our very own Laurent Garnier, director of one of our instruction engineering centers, once again beat his own marathon record this year with a time of 4 hours 13 minutes and 9 seconds, which was 9 minutes less than his last marathon (Paris, April 2006) and 38 minutes less than the one he ran in Chicago in October 2005! It is this type of achievement which encapsulates the spirit found in our teams here at LCI: Commitment and performance in action. Here are a few facts to give you an idea of the sheer size of the New York marathon:

Inaugural speech for the opening of the Turbomeca / LCI Training Center, on October 19, 2006. By Erik Lebreton |
October 2006 |
I would like to thank the Regional and General councils, the Bayonne Anglet Biarritz area, the elected representatives from Biarritz and Bidart, and finally the representatives from the UIMM (the metallurgy industry union) and the CCI (the Chamber of Commerce and Industry) for their attendance.
For a Breton like me, it is a great honor to be given such a warm welcome in this wonderful part of the Basque country.
I don’t believe in luck. I believe in the careful planning of events:
This means that in the next 5 years, the number of training courses given will increase by 50%.
